Welcome to the WMS Cross Country Team!

1.  We are looking forward to our first practice of the season on Monday.  We will begin practice at 3:30 and will be finished by 4:30.  All XC team members should report to the outdoor basketball courts on the back field of the school.  Athletes are expected to wear shorts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, socks, running sneakers and should always bring a water bottle to practice.  We are also aware that there are music auditions taking place Monday after school as well.  If your son or daughter is auditioning, it is perfectly fine to attend the audition and then attend XC practice.

2.  Here is the schedule for the week:

Monday - Practice 3:30-4:30

Tuesday - Practice 3:30-4:30

Thursday - Practice 3:30-4:30

Friday - Practice 3:30-4:30

3.  The Wayland Boosters supply our team uniform.  The uniform is the same as last year so returning athletes do not need to purchase a uniform.  For those of you who are new to our program, please bring in a check for $11.00  made payable to Wayland Boosters.  This cost covers the uniform which is the same for both XC and Spring Track Teams.  The uniform does not need to be returned at the end of the season.

4.  In order to participate in our first practice, all athletes must be cleared.  In order to be cleared for practice a current physical must be on file with our school nurse.  Please be sure your child has an updated physical.  A copy of the physical can be brought to practice on Monday and the coaches will be sure to submit it to our school nurse.

5.  Registration is still open so if you or your child know of other middle school students who would enjoy running XC please encourage them.
